Fitted with a mahogany-lined frieze drawer above adjustable shelves.
Closely related to the furniture supplied by Bullock in 1817 to Matthew Robinson Boulton for Tew Park, Oxfordshire (see for example lot 17, Christie’s house sale, Great Tew Park, 27th-29th May 1987, lot 17, a pair of bookcases in pollard oak and holly with identical marquetry and handles).
